A flower-like sculpture that responds to user speed and proximity with movement and light pattern changes that indicate fear, curiosity, or comfort. A robust mechanical, software, and electrical component (team of 4). Worked on the mechanical component: used rapid prototyping, SolidWorks, metal shop, wood shop, and larger machine shop to construct sheet metal leaves with ball joint mounts, a 5-track rotational CAM and followers, a semi-transparent center sphere with an LED grid, a horizontal gear and motor system, and an LED lined base with sensor mounting
Created this game from concept, art, to coding with a partner in order to create awareness of climate change in a fun, simple game. Used python for coding and created visuals using pixel art.
Using user research, design, and mechanical engineering (SolidWorks, rapid prototyping) we designed a fully spec'd and ready plan for the construction and placement of solar charging tables at Olin to increase campus sustainability. The motivation of this project is to create a more sustainable campus through an actionable, realistic project
